Keezia, Annie, Emily and Sarah headed off to Sydney over the Queen’s Birthday weekend for the biggest hairdressing event in Australia.
The girls made sure they got the most out of their first trip to Hair Expo.
Keezia and Annie attended a breakfast seminar “Building Your Dream Team” on the Sunday morning which was designed to inspire Salon Owners and Managers to become amazing leaders.
Emily was in heaven with the many look and learn programs available. Her favourite was “Vintage Styling” with the very talented Lizzie Liros. The course gave her lots of inspiration for her own personal styling, as well as for the gorgeous bridal work she does in salon.
Sarah had the amazing opportunity to attend a seminar by the world renowned hair stylist, Tracey Hughes. As our most senior apprentice, the Sydney trip was very overwhelming for her. But she definitely handled it like a champ!
Sunday night the girls attended one of the most prestigious Gala events of the whole weekend. The girls, dressed to the 9’s, mingled amongst many hairdressing elite. Annie and Keezia ran into a few friends from the Redken conference in April, which they said was awesome to know a few friendly faces. Champagne flowed, but everyone behaved themselves (no seriously, they did!) and woke up refreshed on the last day of the event.
Product of the Month: Aerate
This is Emily’s go to product for blow-drying medium to thick hair. As a cream based mousse, it is brilliant for smoothing out frizzy and fly-away hair without weighing it down. The consistency of the product is one of the most
amazing things about it. It is mousse, in cream form! This means you only need to use small amount
Zoe has beautiful, thick, healthy hair and Emily has blow dried to perfection using Aerate.
Style Trend: Accessories
It’s a shame we can’t quote John Snow anymore (in more ways then one, no spoilers here) but winter is upon us! This means it’s a great time to start accessorizing you locks with beanies, hats and head scarfs. This is a great way to add a pop of colour to an outfit and is brilliant when it might be a little too chilly to wash your hair!
Whether you have a choppy bob or long flowing waves there is a style to suit everyone. A full fringe looks fantastic under a slouch beanie as seen by Leah Michele.
This is great for the men as well, with Johnny Depp rocking a hat and neck scarf to lead the way. However let’s be honest, Johnny Depp could be wearing a newspaper-boat-hat and he’d still look ah-maze-ing!
